Sparkling Wellness - Day 2 Switzerland

Mmmmmm......What a day to remember. To be on top of the world and in a sense of harmony. Mr. Popular had our day 2 all planned out for us. We were to spend the day in Weggis at the Sparkling Wellness Spa in the Park Hotel Weggis. Weggis is located on Lake Lucerne. What a treat for my tired Jet lag bones. As we approached the hotel I could not believe the view.

Things just kept getting better and better. First up on the list was a body peel. An amazing sensation. A combination of a body massage with ex-foliating cream.

Next up a Tibetan massage. With Tibetan hot oils said to eliminate body fat and cellulite.

The one Tibetan gentleman was the only person who could perform this massage so we had a tough decision to make. Who would get this message????? Of course the birthday girl deserved it. I had to settle for a full shiatsu message..... what a bummer, don't ya think? NOT. It was amazing! But it didn't end there, Mr. Popular had a facial scheduled for both of us after our massages. It was amazingly relaxing and it put both of us to sleep.

I truly believe the views and the surroundings put us both in a sense of harmony.

We enjoyed the moment and spent the rest of the day catching up on time lost.

We could not resist the infinity pool and the spectacular views surrounding us. The pool is heated to a temperature of 32 Celsius. You can see the steam rising from the pool. Luck was on our side. While having our facials, a thunder storm passed through the mountains. It cleared up in time for us to enjoy the pool once all our sessions were complete. Afterwards we settled in for a little relaxation and talk in the ruhezone or rest area.

Feeling a little hungry after our astonishing morning, we went out to seek food and get a closer look at the lake and views. The next two photos I took from the parking lot.

In the town below it was just as breathtaking.

We discovered a Cuban festival. How perfect. Shared a little snack to fill our tummies while we walked around.  Snapped a few more photos of the typical Swiss homes. It seems every window sill has a flower box of geraniums to adorn it. It is said to keep the mosquitoes at bay. None of the windows in Switzerland have screens. All the blinds are on the exterior of the windows or they have shutters like this quaint little home.

I saw so many fountains in Switzerland.

I also witnessed a woman drinking from this fountain below?  My first reaction was eeeewwww..... but I was told that all the fountains in Switzerland use fresh water and it is drinkable. How convenient on a hot day. Leave it to the Swiss, Wise people!

The view across the lake.

Now here is something I discovered and I find really strange. Have a look at what is in this photo! You would never think this is Switzerland.  PALM TREES in Switzerland ? My first thought was someone planted them temporarily, but no they grow here. Very strange. For the most part I find the vegetation is very similar to Quebec. Minus the Palm trees.

Still a little jet lagged,  I am off to bed. I must rest and recoup from my thoughts of a great trip. Tomorrow I will show you Day 3 and some great thrifting finds.

Bonne nuit mes Amis

Hello from the top of the world-Mission complete

Hello everyone, from the top of the world......YES, my mission is complete.  I am sitting at 900 feet at the top of a mountain in Meierskappel, Switzerland.  This is my breathtaking view I wake up to every morning.

It doesn't get any better then this............Mission complete.  I came to Switzerland to surprise my high school friend for her birthday. Sorry for the secrecy but my girlfriend reads my blog, and I did not want to spoil the surprise.  Her husband (Mr. Popular, I'll explain later) and I planned this trip without her knowledge. Wait until you see her face!!!!!!

I am in AWE....... this country is beautiful. The landscape is breathtaking. Every corner I turn, I see something that takes my breath away. I have taken over 500 pictures, snapping and soaking up every bit of scenery. We are in Cherry county, Zug, the best cherries in the world and it looks like it is going to be an early crop. The weather has been just spectacular (over 22 Celsius, and sunny) for a tourist like me who just wants to roam the cantons and take it all in.

I left Montreal, Friday 4:30 pm and arrived in Zurich on Saturday 10:45 am (her Birthday). A very Long flight, but oh so worth it.  Mr. Popular advised Birthday girl, to her disappointment,  he had a meeting in Zurich Saturday morning. Mmmm on her birthday.... Sorry Hun, he just couldn't cancel!  It was a front to come pick me up at the airport. We arrived at their home and he asked her to come out and see what Luca (their Dog) did to the lawn. I was hiding on the side of the house. The look on my friends face when she say me was priceless.  WHAT!!!!!!!! She could not comprehend why I was standing on her lawn, on the side of her house? Her shock and the excitement of the moment had us all in tears. It is an everlasting moment we would never forget.

We embraced and cried some more. I am still pinching myself, I don't believe I am in Switzerland with my friend and her family! Sharing new moments and old moments we missed out on, no one could understand but ourselves! Thank you Mr. Popular for making this all happen!

Of course there is Luca, their affectionate cat-loving-dog feeling the moment. After we all calmed down we sat for a delicious brunch overlooking the view. In the evening we attended a wine tasting party. I immensely enjoyed with more breathtaking views until my jet lag set in and spoiled our time. On top of the world, yes indeed...I thought, but Mr. Popular was not done with the surprises.....He had a spectacular Sunday all planned out for the two of us. Here is a Hint at what was to come.......

You will soon find out why we call him Mr. Popular.......

Furniture from the sky and 100 followers.

"See exciting giveaway below post"
Well, once people know what your desires are,  they flock to help you! I am so grateful. This has always been a great passion of mine. Since the day I was born I thought maybe, just maybe I was born in the wrong era?  Why do I love anything and everything old. I also love to create things to make them look old  long before this became a trend. Which brings me back to this!

Some kind person got wind that I love to refinish vintage pieces and donated this to my cause. As a jump to my new adventure to help me get started.

FURNITURE FROM THE SKY!

Did I mention how grateful I am. We can all use a break every now and then and this was one of them.

It needs some repairs but nothing I can't handle. It has great bones.
Lovely details. I cannot wait to get my hands on it. My bones are aching with desire to be creative with some of these pieces . I have so much creating to do this summer....just waiting and waiting for the weather to cooperate.  I think I am going to explode inspiration.

I am also sooooo grateful to my 100 followers. I started blogging in January 2011 and I have never enjoyed  anything as rewarding as this. The kind words of encouragement are very motivating. I hope I was able to inspire a few of you along the way. This has been the creative outlet I was craving for years. I enjoy writing and sharing some of life's little surprises. I have no idea where this little adventure is going, or where it will lead me, but I am enjoying the ride along with all of you. Thanks for sharing your comments with me. Your comments are truly an inspiration and they give me the desire to continue on this little  escapade. In celebration, I will be hosting a giveaway to thank all of you.  To participate simply click on "GIVEAWAY".  OR "See Below".This Giveaway is open to all. Hope to see you there!

My first 100 followers

I am so excited to announce "My first giveaway"  to thank my first 100 followers and to introduce you to my new Etsy Shop (to view click here). Here is what I am giving away to the lucky winner.

As you all may know I love to have a little inspirational quote after every post and in dedication to that, here is a beautiful quote so you can be inspired each and every day.

One of my favorite words of inspiration by Anaïs Nin.
 .

How this quote came about....

Photo of  Anaïs Nin.
In each case there had been a long period of holding on to some pattern that had been causing me pain (usually unacknowledged). I’d been a tightly-closed bud. This was followed by a catalyzing event (in each case it involved being on retreat) in which I became fully aware of the pain I’d been causing myself. The pain of remaining closed became too much. Then there was a grand finale of emotional release and a spiritual awakening into greater wholeness and well-being. The bud opened, albeit painfully. Anaïs Nin’s quotation — “…the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom” — seems to perfectly encapsulate that process.

My second item is a little more practical and ecological, but just as lovely. An Envirosax...the reusable designer bag, not just any envirosax, but one with the design of the state of ?????? yes,  you guessed it. The state where my little girls heart is. And of course the inspiration for a few of my posts.
