Taking a snow day in the GTA with Big Bertha

We Played hooky in Toronto when we should have been walking the halls at the congress center for the CGTA.  Pssssst, we cheated, no one needs to know. With Big Bertha (my Jeep grand Cherokee), good snow tires and a "Montrealer" who has seen many snowy days at the helm (Me) we ventured out into the storm.  We can cope with anything Mother Nature throws our way.

Meet Big Bertha, My snow machine. She gets me through everrrryyyythinnnng. Hey, if they can name ships then I can name my car. She just isn't a princess, she is my work horse and I love her.....

What more do you need.  So off we went to visit some local gift stores, Pottery Barn and Michaels’ crafts to have some fun in the snow. yeah! A snow day.

House Warmings is one of my favorites in Oakville. Magnificent choices, fabulous products and great merchandising.

We did experience some violent winds. While in Toronto, we stayed in a condo complex off the shore line of Lake Ontario. I have never seen such violent waves crashing the shoreline. What an incredible sight.

A photo taken by a bystander. Those are waves in the background.

Next stop (braving some more bad weather),  Sherway Gardens and Pottery Barns. We are hopeful to one day see Pottery Barn in “La belle Province ”. So when in Ontario we make a point of visiting the store. For Quebecers, here are a few of our favourite things.

       Vintage collection

Architectural Relic

                                              Norfolk Dining table
Williams-Sonoma was our next stop in the same mall. mmmm... I love the sampling. More favorites.

Yummy! Word cookie decorator. Just imagine the possibilities.

Vinturi Wine Aerator Tower Gift Set. A biggy favorite, we love our wine.

Here is how it works. Just hold the aerator over your glass and pour wine through. The aerator accelerates the breathing process to instantly aerate your wine. It enhances the flavor, bouquet, and finish of any red wine in the time it takes to pour a glass.

Haven't tried it yet but we hear it makes a big difference in the flavour of your wine. We are anxiously waiting for the shipment. I smell wine sampling in the future. Hiccup!

With evening traffic hot on our heals we decided to head on back to Oakville to Micheals 'crafts. What luck. Big Bertha preformed well for us. We came to a screeching, halting stop. Thank God for iphone technology. It gave us info on the accident up ahead. The QEW was closed due to a pile up. Luckily no one was injured seriously. We sat idle for an hour. Soooo with the engine cut, resigned to the fact that we were gonna be here for a while I had the chance to do something I never thought possible, read a Pottery Barn catalogue on the QEW.

When things started moving, we finally headed to Micheals crafts and found some great stuff.

And so ends our snow day in Toronto. Upon arriving back at the condo I called home to see how everyone was going. Low and behold we had triple the snow in Montreal as they had in Toronto but no hype, even our schools stayed open. It is whatever we get used to. Creatures of habit. We love, love love to shovel in Montreal (not).

My quote of the day.

Breathe, Believe, receive, It's all Happening.

Have a good weekend.
