Treasures from Switzerland, more, more, more

Oh how I just loved Switzerland, but discovering all the treasures was the most fun. What an eye opener at what is available out there to be shared with the rest of the world. Many beautiful antique and vintage pieces. I am sure many people would love to have some of these items from across the continent in their homes. Such a beautiful country, just beautiful treasures I want to share some of them with you. Some Eye candy.......

Love this piece.

I would love to get my hands on this bed frame. Missing a little shabbiness.

This piece would look lovely on a porch or deck, or maybe even an entryway to rest your weary bones while you remove your boots or shoes.

We both had no idea what this was? We thought maybe a very large free standing pin cushion. If anyone out there knows please enlighten me. Still uncertain of what this was!

The inlay in this piece was gorgeous. It was in pristine condition.

Sorry, my shot is a little blurry. The front is just as gorgeous.

The cabinets are a little different then what we are used to seeing on this side of the continent.
Different layouts for different uses.

Their whole lifestyle is more compact. No wasted space.

Now here is something creepy, with the wool still attached. It looked like human hair.

Gorgeous pieces.

Many ideas for these!

Just walking around the large barn was fascinating.

We decided to walk around the village after a few purchases. I will save this for a complete post. We discovered a gorgeous ZEN garden along the way.

Have to run... need to make myself pretty. Meeting my sons girlfriend for the first time. We are going out to dinner. I asked if I could bring my camera...CAMERA = Blog.  Just kidding. I told him he gets a mention on my blog because it is a Milestone. Milestone??? In my life, My little boy is growing up. He is a sweetie-pie. Looking forward to it.

My words of inspiration for the day.

Fortify yourself with contentment, for this is an impregnable fortress.

Have a good one!

  2. Dear Caroline, I stubled acrossed your blog looking for distributors of ASCP in switzerland- I guess your post on switzerland flagged your site in the search. I really enjoy it! I just moved (3 weeks ago) to Lucerne area and we are settling in and scouring brokis (brocken haus- thrift type stores) for old furniture I can turn into treasures! Where were is this barn full of furniture?!?!

    1. Hi I just read a few pages from your blog. Good luck with the furniture hunting. I have Canadian friends that moved there 4 yrs ago. It is just simply majestic....As far as this barn and it's location I do not recall what town we stumbled upon it. But it was very, very expensive. I'm not sure if this helps but we were 1/2 drive from Zug. We stumbled upon it while looking for the Broken Haus. BTW there is a stockist in Switzerland. She is a darling I just met her a few weeks ago at our annual stockist meeting in Louisiana.here is her link: www.bateaurouge.com
nice chatting. I will follow your progress.:)
