Hardware? Restoration, that is in NYC!

Ooooooo what a sight for sore eyes.  I was thrifting down near 2nd avenue and 23rd street in NYC. My son was complaining and he just about had enough thrifting for the day. Yes the one and the same son I brought over to our side ladies.  Seen some wonderful things, but we were both a bit hungry and sluggish at this point.

We decided to walk up to Broadway. Looking for some new scenery. Ahhhhhhhhhhh, ...low and behold right in front of my eyes I see it. I had no idea it was there.

Now I look like some kinda crazy lady jumping up and down like a school girl on Broadway street.

You should have seen my sons face. "What is wrong with you... MOM!!!!" "Calm down!"  "You are embarrassing me!"  I try to speak...Lets, lets... we are going in there!!!

Ohh the excitement I felt. I hit the highlight of my day on the corner of Broadway and 22nd street in NYC.
YES..RESTORATION HARDWARE.
Now some of you may think I am a little off my rocker, Restoration Hardware? What? We have those stores everywhere!

But I come from....Mais OUI, Quebec. Restoration Quoi?????? On fait pas ca ici!!! We don't make that here!!!! C'est quoi ca?  what is dat! They would have to call it Réstoration Quincaillerie? No, there is no Restoration Hardware here in Quebec.  I have only seen pictures in magazines or on the internet.  I would drool and ogle at everything I see. Just like what I was doing in the store. My son thinks I am NUTSO!

As I made my way around the beautiful displays, I was discreetly sneaking pictures here and there. The guard approached me, Yikes Busted! oh no!, I will be kicked out of my favorite store. I put on my most innocent charm and ask "Can I take pictures in here?" He responds, sure Mam, I was just getting out of your way. HOLLY TOLEDO,  for real. Oh wow I have to retrace my steps and go take better shots.

This is my sons reaction.....

Now I know he is gonna kill me for this but I just had to. I ran back in and snapped over 300 pictures. He was an angel for putting up with my excitement.  He enjoyed it too...ONLY The first time around.
I must say they have a wonderful way of merchandising there products.

I thought this was a very unique display.

I was not disappointed in seeing the real deal. Here are a few more photos I took.

I have many, many more just for inspiration.

Here in Quebec we have so many things other provinces don't.... A very French European flair I would never give up.  But why, why can we not have a Restoration Hardware. :(

This may be an interesting project to reproduce in my home.

So I will have to settle on visiting Restoration Hardware when I am in NYC. It will be a treat each time. We win some and we lose some. But one thing is for sure we cannot have it all.

Au revoir

  2. Pointe Claire Village would be a ideal place for a shop like this, oui/non?

p.s. did you happen to see any hardware for a restoration of the pate procedure?

  3. I love RH too. I spend way to much time drooling over their catalog. The nearest one to me is about 40 minutes away. You've got me wanting to take a road trip. Have fun!
