Trés, trés Shabby chic

I recently met a very classy lady who has a very classy home and I just had to share her trés, trés "Shabby chic"  home with all you shabby chic lovers.  She used a delicious warm pallet of creams and whites, typical of the style throughout her home, but has taken the shabby chic charm and gone above and beyond.

With lush pleated layers of fabric and drapery we all dream of.

This is definitely not your typical shabby chic. A lot of originality and class. Every corner of her home is being utilized to accommodate her collection of antiques.

Her passion for the shabby chic style is more then straightforward but she makes it look effortless. The flow from room to room is graceful and refined. A beautiful home built in 1930's, with exquisitely  charming windows, she is very careful and aware not to hide such a feature.

I am told that it is an ongoing constant work of art in progress. Precious objects and collectibles are continually moving from room to room . Can you spot the change from this photo above and the photo below? Each one works just as well.

Being creative people..... seeing changes in a room is encoded in us. I understand her passion to be rearranging frequently. It keeps things fresh and current.

As a child we would leave for school with our beds on the left side of the room and return after school to find our beds have been completely moved to the bedroom on the right side of the house. My Mom has a love for decorating and she was constantly moving furniture and objects from room to room.  I have also adopted that principle of rearranging furniture. It is in my blood.  None the less, I feel weak in the knees and a little "green-eyed ". This is the home we all want and dream of having someday......Have I not said this before...MY SOMEDAY IS TODAY?
I better get "cracken".

There is heaps of charm left to be seen in this gorgeous 1930's home. I will reveal her stunning dining room with a key feature that makes a dramatic statement and a surprise oasis.  You will not be disappointed.

My words to inspire for the day.

There's always room for love....you just need to move a few things around.

Pardon the pun, I just had to say it. Your comments are my inspiration for the day.

  6. What a stunning home. She must have amazing collections. Where does she keep everything when it is not on display? That is an issue that I struggle with daily! Can't wait to see more of this home.

Thanks for leaving such a nice comment on my blog and becoming a follower! I am now following you, too. I read your post about your Craigslist freebie and had to laugh. You have definitely brought at least one of your sons over to our side! And how wonderful that he is young and strong and can help you load and unload!
