Le Petit Bayou (Trés, trés Shabby Chic)

My heart is pounding and my blood is flowing with anticipation. I was just sent an email by Mme. (Classy lady) explaining something very romantic. This is part 2 of 3 from Trés, trés Shabby Chic.   How dreamy this story is.  I was going to feature "Her" (Classy Lady)'s dinning room today but I will save that for another day. I have some inside information. Instead, I have something I really, really need to show you, But first lets have a look at her heavenly porch. You will not be disappointed.

Yes, this is her porch......not her dinning room!  Can we even dream of such a delight. Again the creamy whites and the addition of caramel drapery is in abundance. She dares to drape fabric even on the ceiling.  Bamboo stick blinds are used to filter out the blazing afternoon sun. It is a dreamy oasis.

Imagine having your morning coffee or evening tea amongst this delightful setting, and it gets even better.

Who would have imagined putting indoor lighting on a porch deck? She has!
This must be stunning at night. Most of us are still adamant on putting our outdoor patio furniture on our decks. Oh how humdrum...She has thought, and is very much ahead of her time, pulling the indoors out.

She has created the ambiance of a French villa overlooking the Alps.

I can just imagine throwing the doors open to let in the cool morning breeze.

As I sip my coffee and flip through my favorite design magazines...oh sorry I was getting carried away, which is not hard in this setting.

But.... there seems to be something missing? I think maybe she forgot something very important.
mmmmmm.....oh well!

Oh but wait, not this Classy Lady!

Mais non!!!!!

See that wonderful building in the background....It looks like your typical garden shed......

Well...This typical garden shed has been brilliantly transformed into something very special Mme Classy Lady and her "handyman" husband call..... "Le Petit Bayou".

Et voila, Le Petit Bayou

Isn't this enchanting. A storybook retreat in their own backyard. A lounge area not seen on the porch, forgotten,  a place to lay your weary head....jamais, I think not. We have our typical lawn chairs, she has Le Petit Bayou.

A place she says they have their "apero" while the jazz music plays softly in the background.

A little surprise. Different from the Creams and caramels of the interior. This has a fresh summer southern breezy feel.  From French Villa to the French Quarter.  This Classy Lady knows how to achieve a look and a mood through design.
Le petit Bayou has a mix of patterns and textures typical of the creole influence with antique pieces and vintage floral fabrics.

Throw your sun bonnet on and have a walk along the Bayou Rouge. You would think the river runs by this little French Louisiana cabin. Mais non, we are in Quebec. Where we have a lot of French influence in our design choices. WE WOULDN'T HAVE IT ANY OTHER WAY, jamais.

I am also told Mr. Handyman will fulfill all her design desires with as much passion and love for their home as she has.   "We are blessed", her words today.

That inside information I mentioned earlier,  I was told someone has gotten the bug to rearrange a few pieces of furniture in her home with the help of Mr Handyman and son. From Living room to dinning room and dinning room to living room. Do we want to view her gorgeous dinning room first or wait for the new transformation?
